er more like chicken
wrapped in bacon!
that's the look I get when I ask her if she thinks Willie is cute!
.....back to the chicken.
assembly line style we did we did.
quick apron change and she was back in line
and I found out, chickens love the smell of grillin' chicken!
these chicken wrapped bacon bites were fun to make and so very good to eat!

our first summer home together.
no more daycare! no more schedules to keep up with! no concrete wilderness.
just the peace and quiet of our country home. where we fall asleep to the sound of the tree frogs chirping, and sometimes wake in the middle of the night for a bathroom run, only to be sung to by the whippoorwill. Oh do I love that sweet song. and mornings are ever so calm now.
when we are not hard at work with the wood, we will be in pool.
saturday we had the local fire department come out to fill our pool.
they even filled Hannah's little pool :)
and trust me, that doggie needs her own little pool.
and notice the orange tie out she's on? I'm still working on her guarding the girls and not playing with them. I think it may just work itself out, she's a pretty good doggie.
although it's still pretty cold out, for being June and all, they insisted on going swimming within hours of it being filled. That water was frigid. FRIGID I tell ya!
and well, sometimes ya just gotta let em go...
it's all good...
just a tad bit cold!
I'm thoroughly enjoying this home thing. it's a pretty awesome gig.
Thank you Lord.

We had one of those crazy busy days today! The kind of day that starts busy real early, and ends busy. Now to some, they encounter days like this often, maybe even daily. I have discovered that I don't like days like this. I guess I shouldn't fully say that, I just would rather space things out a bit more throughout the days of the week. I have a friend who says that she does really well the busier she is. I don't think I do so much. On a grade scale, busy for me gives me a C. That is going from one thing to another. I need time to digest whats happening or going to happen, a break in between per say! Give me breaks, and I will do A+ work! Tonight, after a busy day, I watched my boy hula hoop with swim goggles on. And my night ended an A+!
I will spare some of the details, but things were time crunched today for sure. I had a big delivery, lunch, doctor check ups for both kiddos, and then a dentist appt 30 miles away from the doctors appt. It all went very well, very well actually. Although, it is still a fog right now for me!
I could go for an ice pack on the ol noggin right about now too!
tell me you've had those days,
I know we all have.
no really, the girl learned another unwritten rule tonight.
NO JUMPING ON THE POGO STICK AFTER IT'S RAINED.
the deck was wet which
and the pogo stick slipped out from under her,
and she took an awful digger.
landing on her head. awful to see, awful to hear, just awful.
but the ice pack worked it's wonder, and the rule has now been written.
and we have now resumed regular scheduled programming.
and now to show you what Doty had done today...
open real wide and say
and now off to enjoy just a bit of this...

Friday night we had a storm roll through...enough to send out the warning to seek shelter in the basement. It didn't seem to drastic out, but I sent the kiddos down anyway. and while looking out the windows, I noticed this...
this little owl stuck out the whole storm on this wobbly branch
it amazed us all at how long she stayed and why she even picked that branch for shelter.
we sure love being watched over by all of God's creatures.

this momma dove had 2 eggs in one of my old flower pots that hangs in our lean to. What an odd spot to have her nest as we travel through there daily to get into the garage. But, she seems content.
what a little lovey.
and then there is this crane that my hubby passes by daily on his way into work...
she/he is COMPLETELY surrounded by water. And we have been having rain almost daily. and EVERY TIME one of us drives by she/he is always there. Such dedication. I say she/he because a friend of mine told me that the male always sits on the nest. But in the research I have done, it says the sandhill cranes look identical. But, the day I took these, this bird is gray. and the next day, after a hard rain. I drove by again, and the bird looked brown. So I am unsure of this being male or female???
nontheless it is very sweet to see.
